Bipartisan Hepatitis C Legislation Reintroduced in Both Houses of Congress http://www.marketwire.com WASHINGTON, DC -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 30, 2007

The Hepatitis C Epidemic Control and Prevention Act [SB-1445, HR-2552] has been reintroduced into both Houses of the 110th Congress by Senator Edward Kennedy (D-MA) and Representative Edolphus Towns (D-NY). The Hepatitis C Epidemic Control and Prevention Act mandates a comprehensive federal hepatitis C program to include counseling and testing, early detection, surveillance, education, training, and research. Originally introduced but not voted upon in 2003, the reintroduction of The Hepatitis C Epidemic Control and Prevention Act has been a bipartisan effort. The original cosponsors of the legislation are Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) and Representative Heather Wilson (R-NM).

Nov. 18, 2006 – Meditation and Qigong Workshop presented by Robin Roth and Laura Bresler, at Quan Yin Healing Center in San Francisco as part of their monthly Hepatitis C Education Program.

Nov. 11, 2006 – Harm Reduction Conference – helped staff the Hepatitis C Support Project’s table and distributed fliers about the “Self-Help for Hepatitis C” CD, speaking with many people about ways to meet the challenges of dealing with hepatitis C.

Oct. 21, 2006 – Hep C Aware Annual Telethon – Robin helped out from noon to 8 and at about 4:30 p.m. was interviewed about the “Self-Help for Hepatitis C” CD. Check it out on www.HepCAware.org.

Sept. 24, 2006 – Robin & Laura participated in the San Francisco “Liver Walk” sponsored by the American Liver Foundation. The hepCmeditations team raised over $500 for liver research.
