Affirmations for Hepatitis C
Affirmations are a way to use the power of your mind to bring your good intentions and plans into reality. The mind responds to what you say to yourself, and you will find yourself doing things and acting in ways to make the affirmation true. An effective affirmation is a positively worded statement of how you want to be or what you want to do, stated as if it were already true. When you make an agreement with yourself, create an affirmation stating the agreement as though you have already implemented it. Write it in the present tense. Do not use negative words like “no” or “not”, and don’t mention the behavior you want to stop. For example, “I eat small frequent healthy meals” instead of “I will eat small frequent healthy meals” or “I will not pig out on junk food.” You want to keep your mind on the things that you do want to do.
Repeat your affirmations several times a day – in the morning and before you go to bed are great times, or whenever it is convenient. Posting your affirmations where you can see them from your bed is helpful, or on your bathroom mirror or refrigerator or wherever you will be reminded to repeat them, to yourself or out loud. With these reminders, you’ll find it much easier to keep your agreements with yourself and do the things you know are best for your health.
