It wasn’t easy – is treatment ever easy? – But it was all worth it. I continue to use Applied Meditation and affirmations. Recently
I had a scare with a positive qualitative HCV test that detected virus four years
post-treatment, after years of beingundetectable.
Further tests indicated that was a false positive
and that I am still a durable sustained responder, but I’m
not sure I’d have made it through the month of waiting for
a retest without meditation to keep me calm. It reminded me
how tough it isto have hep C.
That experience got me to recommit to all my healing practices, all the tips I share in this booklet, the CD and our website.
Since I am still healing, I’ve also been benefiting from listening to the pilot CDs Margo and I made as we worked to develop these meditations specific to the needs of people with hepatitis C.
I wrote the outline for Track 2, “Liver Health,” with Rose Christensen, a friend from support group who works on the Hepatitis C Support Project and is a massage therapist. We had learned ways to be in touch with our livers through acupuncture and qigong, as well as anatomy classes. Margo translated all that into the guided imagery of Applied Meditation.
